The Bomber Jacket
Originally made for military supply during World War II, Bomber jackets first began appearing in Europe during the late 1950s when the jackets were popularized by European Air Forces. Subcultures such as the punk movement transformed the jacket and it’s meaning, bringing them into the mainstream of everyday fashion.

The Flight Jacket
The flight jacket was originally created to keep pilots without enclosed cockpits sufficiently warm during World War I. The U.S. Army officially established the Aviation Clothing Board in September 1917 and began distributing heavy-duty leather flight jackets with key features, including high wraparound collars, zipper closures with wind flaps, and snug cuffs and waists. Some were fringed or lined with fur for extra warmth. Today, they’re worn by any winter warrior who wants a throwback look.
